Planting mangroves before dawn

The Mangroves planting group in Dong Tan village, Da Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province woke up before sun raising to plant mangroves. Because mangrove planting activities depend on tidal level, only when the tide recedes, there is a place to plant Mangrove seedlings.

Today, everyone got up at 4.30 am and went to the field to plant the Mangroves forest seedlings at 5 o’clock before the sun rose in the east. The forest Mangroves planting group is mostly women, with strong men helping to transport the seedlings to the planting site. They have used traditional tools such as skis that glide over the mud as carts that deliver seedlings very quickly to the growers. They have to race against the rising tide to get the works done as planned.
