CORENACCA Center Workshop – Training on renewable energy in Nga Thuy commune, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province.

Following a series of energy training courses at Ngu Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province, from February 4-5, 2002, CORENACCA Center cooperated with Vietnam Green Innovations Joint Stock Company (GREEN IN) and Nga Thuy Commune People’s Committee organized a training course on renewable energy in Nga Thuy commune, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province.

Participating in the training were nearly 40 representatives from Farmers’ Unions, Women’s Unions and households producing handicraft and related art products from the sedge/seagrass of Nga Thuy commune.

At the Workshop – Training, the rapporteurs and project staff have provided basic information on renewable energy, energy saving, current regulations related to economical and efficient energy use, and models of renewable energy models being applied at industrial and household scales.

This is the firsttime trainees can participate in a Workshop – Training on renewable energy. There is a lot of information and knowledge about renewable energy that is still very new to them, therefore the trainees were very excited and discussed issues related to the possibility of applying solar power for various types of products in Nga Thuy commune such as: water pumps in aquaculture, heating cages in poultry production, using a number of machines and equipment for the production of handicrafts and fine arts from sedge.

Closing the Workshop – Training, the representative of the People’s Committee of Nga Thuy commune hoped that CORENACCA Center and Vietnam Green Innovation Joint Stock Company would continue to support more training courses and propaganda seminars on renewable energy, sustainable energy use for many different sectors in Nga Thuy commune in the coming time.
