Risk of uncontrolled roads for harvesting acacia.

In recent years, the uncontrolled construction of roads for harvesting acacia and other industrial crops has become increasingly common, especially in hilly areas. The unregulated clearing of land disrupts the natural terrain, significantly increasing the risk of landslides, particularly during the rainy season. Additionally, the weakening of soil structure due to the loss of vegetation cover makes these areas highly prone to erosion, posing threats to local communities and nearby infrastructure.

To address this issue, a comprehensive approach from both authorities and local communities is necessary. Firstly, stricter regulations must be enforced, requiring households and businesses involved in forestry to follow proper land-use planning and construct roads based on technical safety standards. Additionally, measures such as soil reinforcement, retaining walls, and planting native vegetation along newly opened roads should be implemented to prevent erosion. Moreover, raising community awareness about the negative impacts of unregulated road construction and promoting sustainable logging practices will be crucial in mitigating environmental risks while supporting local livelihoods.

If effectively implemented, these solutions will help reduce landslide risks, protect the ecological environment, and ensure the safety of residents. At the same time, a more sustainable approach to industrial crop exploitation will allow the forestry sector to thrive without causing long-term harm to natural resources and local infrastructure.
