On November 29, 2022 in Ngu Loc commune, Hau Loc district, Thanh Hoa province, more than 25 representatives of mass organizations and leaders, officials of Ngu Loc Commune People’s Committee participated in the training program. The Center for Research and Consulting on Resource Management and Climate Change Adaptation (CORENACCA) has provided a lot of useful information about the overview of renewable energy in Vietnam, the benefits of renewable energy, types of renewable energy, and renewable energy in Thanh Hoa, potential for renewable energy development in Thanh Hoa, household-level solar power systems, solar power models deployed in other localities, etc. Thereby, participants have access to knowledge and information about renewable energy, energy saving and can apply knowledge from the course to build an economical and efficient energy use plan. In addition, the trainees discussed enthusiastically about solar energy models suitable for daily life of households, households producing and processing seafood, and especially applying solar power to ships. fishing boat in Ngu Loc commune, the solar energy models that are considered suitable by the trainees to be applied in Ngu Loc commune include: Solar street lights; Drying using solar energy; Rooftop solar power system; Solar power for fishing boats. At the end of the training program, the Center for Research and Consulting on Resource Management and Climate Change Adaptation supported the trial installation of 03 solar street lights at the headquarters of the People’s Committee of Ngu Loc Commune. In the coming months, there will be 05 more training courses on solar energy and efficient use of energy for fishermen in Ngu Loc commune. The objective is to help the authorities and people of Ngu Loc commune increase awareness and capacity on renewable energy, economical and efficient use of energy in the context of climate change.
